So if the last two books were telling how demons and wardens were old enemies, this time they teamed up against the public enemy no 1, The Lilin. Lilin has killed many souls, including Layla's best friend's, not only killed them, but consumed their souls so it could easily changing its face to any of the souls that he has taken cruelly. Layla couldn't just stand there and do nothing while Lilin won't stop its moves until it could free their mother, Lilith. 

On the process, Zayne almost get killed when he was 'too close' with Layla, and she won't allow it to happen again. She has loved him since she was just a kid. He was everything that she could think about when it comes to a man. But destiny has brought Roth to Layla's life. This time Layla has to choose between the love of her life Zayn or Roth, the Crown Prince of Hell that made her couldn't sleep all night.

There is no surprise that I'm on Roth's team. The more sarcastic he is, the more love I have for him. It's not just because he has that boyfriend material, but he is someone that will go through Hell to be with Layla, and he has proved it. So both of them are perfect for each other. Let's not mess it up :D

"I'm pissed off because I love you, Layla, and the idea of losing you fucking terrifies me!" "

And I wasn't going to chance losing you! Because I love you, you annoying, self-important and overcontrolling--"

I like pretty much all the characters except for Lilin, of course. Cayman is a very funny guy but loyal to Roth, Stacey is a strong girl and such a best friend to Layla, and Bambi, I'm going to miss Bambi so muchhhh. Later you will find out what Bambi actually is. <3

This is a trilogy finale and I am so sad this book has come to an end. It was very enjoyable and quick reading. And I found myself still awake in the middle of the night reading the book just to kill my curiosity on how the story would end. It thrills me, intrigues me and freaks the hell outta me ;__;

I couldn't say i'm a fan of the cover but who cares? I love this book enough that even bad cover won't matter. I'm quite surprised when I read reviews on Goodreads and many reviewers were disappointed by its story. Pros and cons are inevitable, of course. But JLA is my forever favorite author, and whatever she writes has always turned out very good to me. Je vous aime, Jen!

Last time I read and made a review about Obsidian that was telling about Daemon, and Shadows is part of it. It is the story of the lost-or-maybe-dead brother, Dawson. Living in a human form makes Dawson, Daemon and Dee and the other aliens can easily blend with humankind. The aliens called themselves as The Luxen, it means 'light' because everytime they overused their powers, their bodies will be bright and shine like a light or worse, sun.

Most of the Luxen are twins or triplets. Nobody notices them as aliens, if one does, DOD (The Department of Defense) will take care of it. You need to read it by yourself to know why DOD protects them. But it doesn't make them to live in peace because Arums are looking for them to kill and absord their powers. So, the point is Arums are bad news for the Luxen and they are more powerful at night.

Dawson never fall in love with a human, make out  is one thing, but having a relationship with a human is a big no for Luxen. It's way too risky. But when he met Bethany Williams for the first time, he couldn't stop thinking about her. And she also felt the same thing.

"Talk to you tonight?" 
"Of course."
"You're calling me."
"Yeah, that's right."
"Good, because I really don't think I can go to sleep without hearing your voice now."
Isn't it just sweet? I'm sensing a new-born couple here. Maybe it sounds a bit lame or whatever but love is just like that right? When you love someone, you don't even notice that you want to change your life for him/her.

How are they going to maintain their relationship while everyone seemed to disapprove with their relationship?

"I love you, Dawson. I love who you are, what you are. And I don't think love recognizes differences. It just is. And we really aren't that different."

I've read Obsidian and I know how Dawson's brother, Daemon really hates humans. And he has a good reason of why he doesn't want to get involved with any human. But still, love can change everyone and everything. 

"This is going to blow up in your face - in all of our faces. There's a reason why humans don't know about us. They are fickle and insane!" 
Then Ash twisted toward Daemon, her cheeks flushed. "I can't believe you;re allowing him to do this. Next thing we know, you'll be dating a human." "
Yeah, not going to happen."


How funny it is when I read what Daemon said about his brother being crazy about love with a human. Coz' later Daemon will fall in love with a human as well, though he's kinda not admit it :D

Book I Bought : Legend - Marie Lu

Today I went to Medan Fair Plaza with my friends Dewi and Tasya. We didn't go there to shopping or else but hunting books. Since we are majoring english literature and this is our last year, we are all facing the same problem, which is THESIS, it is like a continuing headaches that can only get better once the thesis is done. *hopefully*

Well, I don't want to talk about the thesis thing here coz it will just add more headache that I've already had, so I'll just share the book that I bought today. I've tried my best to only buy books that I need, not I want. I'm still trying,though, so don't judge okay =DD

The title is Legend by Marie Lu. Here is the synopsis : LEGEND. It has another cover though,

Actually I wanted to buy this one and Please Look After Mom but after having some consideration, I decided to buy this one first. Like I always said,"Others can wait." :DD

 Kat and her mother just moved from Florida to Virginia. They decided to move since Florida just left them with a hurtful memory. Kat's Dad died of cancer and thereafter nothing's the same anymore. Kat's mother started working more and more but then she finally decided they need a fresh start.

Ever since they moved, Kat has nothing to do except blogging. Then her mother asked her to befriend with two kids about Kat's age next door. Not want to let her mom down, she went to their house. And the impression of the guy next door is just so hillarious. Kat couldn't help staring at his naked chest and anything that you probably want to read it by yourself. Her head warned her to keep steady but her voice betrayed her XD

The guy next door's name is Daemon. At first I wondered why his name isn't Damon just like 'Damon' on Vampire Diaries, even my friends were questioned it and mistook it as Damon VD. But it doesn't matter at all because both men are so hawt :D

Well back to the book, Daemon is kinda pissed off with Kat for no reason, but Daemon's twin sister shows the opposite attraction to her. Dee likes Kat as soon as she saw her and she intends to be a close friend with Kat. Dee has a trick for her brother to get close with Kat, but of course, either Kat or Daemon dislike the idea of spending time together.

When Kat hang around with Dee and Daemon, somehow she can tell that something isn't right. Sometimes the weather and cloud can just instantly changed into lightning and storms, and in a blink of an eye, the cloud has become normal back. And how come a guy no matter how hot he is could dive under the water like ten minutes or so?

The suspicion grow stronger the night Kat was attacked by stranger who asked her,'Where they are?', 'You are a trace.' and something like that. Kat was freaked out and the stranger was no kidding in hitting and kicking her. When she thought that night was the last night for her before she died, Daemon came and took control. She was rushed to the hospital, did dozen of X-rays but thankfully she could go home that night. She believed she would have a bad hit on her face and body but when she woke up on the next day, she barely has bruises anymore. Weird.

Who are they? or the exact question is 'What are they?' Not to mention there are bunch of kids and adults like Dee and Daemon around the town. What are they capable of? and Who was the attacker?

When I read the first chapter, I immediately love this book. I love the never-end-conversation between Daemon and Kat, they always find something to argue and when they started to throw bomb to each other, no one can stop them. I just admired the love and hate relationship between them, and it grows stronger day to day.

 "I think it would be best if you'd stay away from me."

"No can do."

"Any of the other Luxen can watch over me or whatever," "It doesn't have to be you."

"You're my responsibility."

"I am nothing to you."

"You are definitely something."

"I dislike you so very much."

"No. You don't."

And Kat's character is no way the same like the other heroine, she's so brave and so unique, and she also has the ability to control herself whenever Daemon was around. I instanly like Kat when I knew that she's a book blogger just like me =D

"I don't review books to get paid or anything."

"I do it because I like it. I love reading, and I enjoy talking about books."

Reading and reviewing books is my pleasure. To get paid is just a bonus =)

I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves to read Young Adult, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance. You guys are going to love this book as much as I do. \mm/

Hartley Grace Featherstone has a perfect life. BFF? , good grades? gorgeous boyfriend? She has it all.
However, it doesn't seem like you gonna have a perfect life like forever,and so does Hartley's. Her fortune seems not following her anymore. Heard an issue her boyfriend was cheating on her with Courtney made Hartley pissed off, yet she didn't believe the rumor since Courtney has signed as a member of Chastity club and there's no way her boyfriend wanna go with another girl besides Hartley. But well, it's hard to ignore the rumor when most people at your school were talking about it. 


Hartley tried to contact Josh for many times but got a zero response. So, she and Sam,her bff went to his house. Surprisingly, they found a dead body. It's Courtney's. Who killed her? Is that Josh? But why?


Soon, after the police came and asked them a few questions, Josh became the prime suspect in this case. But he can't be found anywhere. Where is he? Is he hiding on something? 


Well, after that horrible incident, Hartley and Sam met up with Josh's neighbour Chase, the member of the Herbert Hoover High Homepage, the school's online newspaper. Some informations were given after they made a deal. The deal is Chase will help them to find the killer and he and the Homepage will get the exclusive story in return. 


The way the author wrote his appearance, i think he's not bad at all. In fact, this Chase boy is kinda hot. LOL. and i'm not the only one who feel it, Hartley also feel the same thing. HA!. They suspect many persons who dislike Courtney but found no one who seems to have the urge to kill her and framed Josh. During their investigation, another dead body was found and it freaked them out. and again, Hartley has to be the one who found the body. Will she find the real killer without harming herself?

I love how Hartley is so honest to herself, to her feelings toward her to Josh and Chase. well, I just love people who respect themselves, after all.

The truth was, I'd lied to a lot of people in the past week. As much as I'd been pissed at Josh for lying to me, I'd turned around become what I'd hated him for. Granted, I hadn't professed my undying love to Chase, then gotten naked with some guy behind his back. 

"But as much as he'd been my first love, he'd also been the first guy to ever cheat on me. And if I'd learned anything from my near-barbecuing experience, it was that life was way too short to spend with someone who didn't respect me."

This is my first time to read Gemma's book and I gotta say this book is awesome! While some author seemed to be more interested in romance or fantasy genre, Gemma tried a different way of choosing the genre. and I love it. Soon after I read the first page, I was so into it and can't help but continue to read until midnight. I think this book deserve a high rating so I gave it 5stars. I love everything about this book. Gorgeous cover, the storyline, the chemistry between Hartley and Sam and Hartley and Chase and I love the funny thing about Sam's brother's car. LOL you will find out what's so funny about his car soon after you read the book. 


I highly recommend this book to everyone. It's a very light fun read and you won't get bored even just for a second. Because all you want to do is to read page after page to know who the real killer is and Hartley, Chase and Sam with her brother's car (lol) will help you to find it. :)
