Pushing The Limits

Title : Pushing The Limits
Author : Katie Mcgarry
Publisher : Mira Ink
Publication Date : August 3rd,2012
Synopsis : Pushing The Limits
Review :

"Normal. She wanted normal and so did I."

Nothing is normal anymore for Echo and Noah. Not when Echo's brother Aires had died and her mom went crazy and tried to kill her. And Noah lost his parents and now wants to get custody of his two little brothers over their foster parents.

They are not the same person anymore. Accidents happened and poof~~ the world seems to be torn apart. Echo used to be a happy, cheerful, popular girl, until that one dreadful night she spent with her mother. It only takes one night, one moment, to make Noah wakes up in the hospital room and finds out that she has lost pieces of her memory. There are reddish scars on her hand, and how could a popular girl handle scars?
She quits. And that makes her peers at school began to whisper, laughed and even talked behind her back said she has gone crazy.

On the other hand, Noah doesn't do better. His life sucks and he knows it. But then he met Mrs.Collins, a social worker who unlike the others, seems to care with his life. Echo and Noah are on the same class. And now she is assigned to be his tutor. The girl rocks every man's life yet doesn't know it. Does Echo deserve a man like Noah? No, he thought she deserves better. But he can't take his eyes off her. Their lives are so complicated it hurts.

"The worst type of crying wasn't the kind everyone could see - the wailing on street corners, the tearing at clothes. No, the worst kind happened when your soul wept and no matter what you did, there was no way to comfort it."

I really like this book. It reminds me a bit of Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles, which is good. This book brings  sadness and huge changes to both main characters. There I watched them struggle for life, one tries to dig into her past to find the truth, and the other attempts to win a battle of custody of his brothers. I really love this couple. They are cute together and what is more important is they complete each other.

"There's nothing you can do wrong when just breathing makes everything right."

Last night I found myself crying, this book not only touches my heart but it really opens my mind. I made a mental note that if our boyfriend only ask for sex, then he is not interested with us but our bodies. If he loves you, then he will wait. He will wait until you are ready. And if your boyfriend or your friends can't handle you at your worse, then they don't deserve you at your best.

I highly recommend this book for any lover of Young Adult.

Synopsis : Onxy
Review :
"I still want to strangle you. But I'm insane. You're crazy. Maybe that's why. We just make crazy together."
This book is so great it hurts. I really tried to only read a few pages per day in the hope that I don't have to say goodbye to this book so soon, but I failed. Curiosity killed me. I can hardly put this book down. I don't know if it sounds weird or not, but when you love reading a particular book, you really don't mind whether it's a very thick book or not. Not that this book is thick, though.

I think I could never get enough of Daemon. He is a perfect figure that maybe every girls in the world want to have as a boyfie. I am totally into this book, seriously. It's more intense, more love-hate relationship between Kat and Daemon, more fights and struggle and more secrets revealed. In this book, you can't really tell which person tell lies and which one is telling the truth. I myself can only trust Daemon.
"Some things are best left...unknown, you know? People search for answers and they don't always like what they get. Sometimes the truth is worse than the lie."
Daemon's sarcasm never fails to entertain me. His humor is extremely sarcastic. He also never hid his dislike to anything or to anyone. He's very blunt and straight to the point telling people the truth and I found it hilarious. I can't stop laughing when he mentioned the newcomer's name in the wrong way on purpose.

Katy is my second favorite heroine beside Rose (Vampire Academy). Since the first book, she has shown her strong personality, she can't be easily taken down by anything. She can deal with troubles and never ran away. Many changes confused her, but she is a fast-learner. She might get scared most of the time but it didn't stop her.

While Katy still denies everything that she feels for Daemon, Daemon is the opposite of her. He blatantly expressed his love at her and even made a bet with her that she will fall in love with him before New Year's Day over. I also love Daemon for being so caring and protective of Kat. Whenever Kat has problems, he always be there for her and make sure that she's fine. No, no. I don't only love him, I worship him! HARD!

Jennifer has done a very good job and I really can't wait to read the third book, Opal. Her writing is the best.  It is always funny and very entertaining just like the first book and the other series that she had wrote. I bet that she is really a nice person in the real life as well. Wish someday I can meet and hug her and ask for autograph XD

This book is epic!!

Rating : Definitely 5 stars.
Recommended to : Everyone.

The Academy - Emmaline Andrews

Title : The Academy
Author : Emmaline Andrews
Publisher : Evangeline Anderson Books
Publication Date : August 2nd,2012
Synopsis : The Academy
Review :
I decided to read this after reading my friend's review and the synopsis itself. If you often watch Korean Drama, this novel must have reminded you of You are Beautiful, Hana Kimi or the one that quite famous nowadays, To The Beautiful You. Yes, those drama are about a girl who pretended to be a boy and attended a private boy's school. There she met a boy she likes then fall in love. Those stories are always interesting to watch. Thus, when I know this novel is kind of have the same story line, I can't wait to read it myself.

Kristina and Kristopher are twins. Kristopher is fond of music and Kristina likes to study. Their father forced Kristopher to attend The Academy soon, but he has his own plan for his future. Whatever he said to his father to let him decide his life by his own just get his father mad and annoyed. Meanwhile, Kristina offers to take his brother's place at The Academy.

I have a good imagination about this. Kristina cut her long and beautiful hair to the short one. She also wrapped her breast and wear his brother's shirt. The Academy itself has strict rules and forbid students to stay up late at night. Not to mention they all have to share a public bathroom. Can you imagine that? lol. Kristina is in a big trouble! I found myself laughed at the moment Kris has to share a room with her roommate, North. North is quite passive and get annoyed easily by her presence. But as time goes by, North found himself thinking, how could Kris has that beautiful face? Although Kris is good at fencing, but somehow North has the urge to protect her from anything. You know which part is the best? It's when North questioned his sexual orientation, whether he is still straight or not. lol.

I enjoyed reading this book pretty much. Although the story line is predictable, but it isn't boring.
