Worse, the girl who’s been assigned to make him over into a geek is a major geek herself. Vere Roth is a chattering pixie, a blushing tornado and a complete social disaster. He also can’t seem to stop sharing his secrets or keep her out of his heart. Knowing he’d never deserve a girl as sweet as Vere, he resigns himself to the friend zone, and helps his new bestie with her own makeover. She tortures him daily for ridiculous guy advice on how to snag her life-long crush. A guy Hunter thinks is totally wrong for Vere, and sadly, one who has taken note of Vere’s transformation. When Vere asks her best friend for some kissing advice, Hunter can’t resist... And that’s when things get out of control... High School Romance, first love, sweet romance

Review :

I feel really bad for Hunter, for all of the pain that he had gone through. He is living proof that even a rock star, someone very popular can also feel down and depressed even though he has fans who love him, money to spend or women to sleep with. Eventually, when he has finished the show, he is all alone again. His mom never had a good communication with him. His brain has been planted the thought that his mother is a mean mom who doesn't want to get close with her own son.

His mother sent him to Colorado, to Aunt Nan's place where he was required to disguise himself as a complete new person, Dustion McHugh. There he met Vere and Charlie to help him in his disguise. Hunter who has a problem with commitment fell instantly head over heels with Vere. But Vere has fallen in love with Curtis, Charlie's best buddy since they were kids. Hunter finds Vere so attractive with her hair tied up in a bun and how she turns red for having conversation with or about Curtis, etc. Meanwhile, Vere thinks Hunter is too awesome and perfect to be in the same neighborhood with her. Thus, she prefers to think him as Dustin, her new BGF, Best Guy Friend.

He might be in disguise, but his feeling for Vere is real. Moving to Colorado may not be a complete disaster after all. Hunter has been a good friend for Vere, he has become someone whom she can talk to about anything which she can barely do to another men.
"I think you're nuts. Vere doesn't need my help - or anyone's help. She's fine. Adorable, funny, and cool - as she is. If your-man Curtis can't see the charm in a girl who knocks over lamps, maybe he's an ass?"
I totally enjoyed reading this. Reading from Dustin aka Hunter's POV and Vere's POV is quite interesting. I know what both of them were thinking, how Hunter desperately wants to be with Vere but scares to death if he leaves her ultimately, etc.
"Whatever made Vere happy, no matter how much it hurt."
PS :

I guess I should share this too because it's important and many girls have no idea about how brutal men can be when they are drunk or high. Even if they aren't, they are still dangerous when it comes to their sexual needs. Just take notes that life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. To some people, it can be mean and rough. If you want to attend party or clubs, let's follow what Hunter Kennedy says :

"You should never leave a drink unattended. Take it with you to the bathroom. If you forget, then pitch what's left, and start a new one."
Rating : 4/5
